Shorter weekend operational hours on East-West MRT line in March
From 2 March, the whole of the MRT East-West line from Pasir Ris to Tuas Link and from Tanah Merah to Changi Airport will have their operating hours shortened. This disruption will last till the 1st April to facilitate the maintenance and ongoing upgrading works. On the bright side, there are no full day closures like what happened January so the impact is much smaller. Here is the summary of the disruption.
On Fridays and Saturdays, the trains will stop earlier at 11pm, while on Saturdays and Sundays, the trains will start later at 8am. On the 12th and 14th March, the trains will stop earlier at 10.30pm.
Shuttle Bus Services to Support Shortened East-West Line Operational Hours
Do not worry if you need to stay out late though. SMRT has arranged for shuttle bus services to replace the affected stations. Just look out for the instructions at the stations and the buses should run at the nearest bus stops from the train station.
If the table above is still slightly confusing, don’t worry, our app has the directions covered so you know when and which shuttle bus to take to find your way!
Pro Tip:
There are no bridging services between Bugis and Raffles Place.
If you are heading west from Bugis, you have to find your way to Raffles Place by a public bus and board Shuttle 1.
If you are heading east from Raffles Place, you have to find your way to Bugis by a public bus and board Shuttle 6 or 12.
There are no shuttle buses serving City Hall station. Take the NS line to Raffles Place or a public bus to Bugis station.
